4 places to visit (and EAT) in Bali

November 08, 2018

So, I returned from Bali approximately 10 weeks ago (not that I'm, like, counting or anything) and the nostalgia is still STRONG. Especially now that the nights are drawing in and it's just about time to put on that piumino...

Obviously, being the dedicated blogger that I am, I haven't yet written a post about Bali. Between moving to Rome and the consequential early-life crisis that followed, I just haven't managed to get round to it. Fortunately I've now found a break in my busy working week (jk, Italians work about two hours a day then pop off for lunch - the key to working here, it seems, is the more you complain about all the work that needs doing and do absolutely none of it, the bigger your stipendio will be at the end of the month. I'm adapting.)

So, here we are: a Bali post.

Songs to help learn Italian

June 13, 2018

I know, I know... Another three months since my last post 🙇

I say it every time I start a blog post but I just don't know where the time goes.
Except this time, I have a little idea - I've been doing my final exams (five years later, I'm finally free of uni for *hopefully* ever!) and was at the same time stressing endlessly about finding myself a big girl job in Rome.

Italy is not one of the best places to find a job when compared to say, London, where there are 5 million exciting job posts right up my street every day, but after a couple of months of keeping an eye on my LinkedIn alerts I have managed to land one!

Dolce Vita Blogger linkup: A Love Letter to Italy

February 16, 2018

Like all great loves, it's hard to pinpoint where it began.

Was it the first warm September evenings, sitting in bars with wine and new friends who would eventually become like family? Was it something more simple - the ragu, the pignoletto, the mortadella e pistachio pizza? Or was it just the sense of possibility that you gave a 21 year-old girl moving abroad for the first time?

Best study/work spots in Rome

January 23, 2018

Another year, another new year blog post!

First things first... a big welcome to everyone reading this, whether you followed my blog before through its various guises or found me through my attempt to reach instagram blogger star status with my new, fancy Insta account @dazeinrome.

I gave up a bit with the blogging last year - writing full time for a job, surviving in Rome and getting caught up in a whirlwind Italian romance didn't leave a lot of time (or inclination) for writing for pleasure. I was aware, though, that it was a bit of a waste - Rome is super photogenic and living in such an Instagram-worthy city without sharing it seemed a shame!

Now I'm writing less and studying more I've found I have a little more space in my brain for creativity, so here's the first post on my shiny new rebranded blog, daze in rome.
