Asos Edit, September

August 25, 2015

It's rainy, cold and the weekend is still a long way away; a winning combination of factors that are enough to drive a girl to drink, shop and/or binge watch television. Currently, I'm doing all three.

(Funnily enough, I just popped down to the local Costcutter for a late night bottle of red in my glasses, pyjama shorts and pink fluffy slippers and got asked on a date by the man behind the counter. Which, although baffling, is always a bit of a compliment. Perhaps he's blind.)

Anyway, I've been fantasising about pay day since the last one - who hasn't? - and have racked up a bit of a list of potential purchases. Having finally decided that I don't like actually shopping (The crowds! The prams! The grumpy women in Zara!), I now do nearly all my shopping on Asos. So here we go.

DENIM SKIRT, INDIGO

I've been eyeing these up all summer, but when I found an indigo button-up denim skirt in Primark back in June I couldn't really justify splashing out on another one.

They have them in several colours - I love the white, but unfortunately I'm not moving anywhere hot enough to contemplate another few months of bare legs, so the denim is more practical.

This one is £30.

ASOS BODY WITH EYELETS AND LACE UP

I've been a big fan of the 70s lace up trend, but I've found it quite tricky to find something that doesn't look as if it should be made of PVC and worn in a dodgy adult film.

I like that this is more subtle, perfect for day or evening or beach - if you're lucky enough.

This one is £20.

OVERSIZED COLOURBLOCK SCARF

Last winter it didn't really matter what I had on, because I threw a massive woollen scarf over the whole lot every day anyway. They're simple, warm and go with pretty much anything if you get the right colour - last year I had the black and white plaid one from Zara (as did everyone else!).

This one is £14.

FRENCH BULLDOG JUMPER

OK, this is a bit silly, but I kinda love it anyway.

Because who doesn't like french bulldogs?

A grey jumper is a pretty staple piece for autumn - and when it comes to dog-shaped elbow patches, the more the merrier.

MAGIC TOUCH POINTED FLAT

I basically lived in Nikes and black boots last winter, so my flat shoe collection is desperate for a little update.

I LOVE SNAKESKIN.

Seriously. On everything. Except actual snakes, of course, because they're creepy fuckers.

LANA POINTED LACE UP FLATS

I've also loved the lace-up shoe thing that's been going on over summer.

Lace-up flat + snakeskin = HAPPINESS.

NIKE RAQUETTE TRAINERS

At first, I hated Stan Smiths. They reminded me of some Babycham trainers I really wanted when I was 12, but never convinced mum to buy me.

But, they're growing on me - except, now everyone has them.

So in an attempt to be a little more original, I'm lusting after this Nike version.

Here, for £62.

SUEDE WRAP PENCIL SKIRT

I've loved this since I saw it back in June, but sadly £75 for a skirt that, really, I'm unlikely to wear seemed a little steep.

However, in brighter news, it is now on sale!

For half price. Grab it. It's delicious. (They also have it in grey for this season, which is cute too.)

ASOS BOYFRIEND WHITE SHIRT

I've been looking for a simple white shirt for ages, and I think this one is perfect.

I love it paired with jeans, skirts, jumpers. Anything really.

SOFT SHIRT WITH LACE UP DETAIL

If you've been paying any attention at all, you'll have worked out I really, really like lace-up things and white shirts.

YAY! This is both. It's so perfect and summery and understated seventies, all at the same time.

And it's only £25.
